Hi all! I’m pretty new to color theory and have been working to determine my own seasonal color palette without spending anything upfront since I’m on a narrow budget. I’ve taken several free online color analysis quizzes so far, but I’ve noticed that the results they give tend to be all over the place or pretty ambiguous, which makes me question how reliable they really are. Some say I’m a Soft Summer, others suggest a Deep Winter, and a couple just give basic advice like “try warm colors”. It’s a bit puzzling since I was hoping these quizzes would help me understand which shades actually work with my skin tone and undertones.
I recently found this curated list of free color analysis quizzes that includes user ratings, so it looks reliable as a more trustworthy starting point. I’m sharing it here in case it might help others in a similar position: what color looks best on me . Before diving in, I want to hear from people with practice—are there any free quizzes you would actually recommend that gave you valuable insights? Or are there common problems I should watch out for, such as tests that push you toward a paid version or quizzes that rely too heavily on lighting conditions or photos that can affect results?
Also, if you have tips on how to assess quiz results critically or ways to cross-check outcomes without paying for professional analysis, that would be really great. Thanks in advance for any advice, recommendations, or warnings—just hoping to find something helpful without emptying my wallet at this stage!
